USS Lexington Warships Of World War 2 75th Anniversary Coin was crafted with the level of detail a US Navy challenge coin deserves. Featuring the strong bow line and superstructure of this famous aircraft carrier and its detailed 4 x twin 5 inch guns, 4 single 5 inch guns, 8 quad 40mm and 46 x 20mm anti-aircraft guns made it a formidable warship. She sailed with up to 110 aircraft at speeds of 33 knots. The US flag in red and blue with silver accents is also displayed. The nickname “The Blue Ghost” is also carved into the coin. With 10 battle stars from her actions in WW2 they are ornately displayed at the top of the coin. This Essex-Class flat top saw battles and was victorious in action with the US Navy. Sun rays are seen behind the warship and a deep colorful blue sea completes the scene.
