Featuring the strong bow line and superstructure of this famous aircraft carrier and its detailed 4 twin 5 inch mounts, 4 single gun  5 inch mounts, 46 20mm anti-aircraft guns and more. The US flag in red and blue with silver accents is also displayed. The nickname “The Fighting Lady” is also carved into the coin along with its hull number CV-10. With 11 battle stars from her actions in WW2 they are ornately displayed at the top of the coin. This Essex-Class flat top is now a museum located at port at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, SC. Sun rays are seen behind the warship and a deep colorful blue sea completes the scene.
