Since 1775 the United States Navy has developed through hard work and sacrifice on a level we will never fully understand. American has become the leading naval sea power in the world which is they have coined the term The Sea Is Ours US Navy style!
From ocean going frigates in the War Of Independence to the War Of 1812, remember the USS Constitution (oldest active duty US Navy ship) having sunk the HMS Guerrere, supporting the Normandy invasion along the French coastline during World War 2, the Island hopping campaigns and salvos fired from US battleships, destroyers and more pinning the Imperial Japanese Army down on beachheads stretched out all over the Pacific ocean. The US Navy has been there and while the US Navy and its numbers have been reduced its technology in more recent years it has never once been lessened and continues to produce some of the most sophisticated sea going weapons in history.
The Sea Is Ours
From Aviation Boatswain’s Mate to Yeoman each United States Navy Sailor makes a maximum effort to ensure their warship, boat, squadron and naval command are fit to fight and deliver the maximum blow to America’s enemy. Their collaboration with other navies of the world from the Japanese Defense Forces (JDF) and RIMPAC operations to their continued training regimen with WESTPAC cruises and constant deployment schedules ensures an up-to-speed US Navy.
China Is the Threat
Without question the Chinese pose the largest threat to the freedom of the United States. With the dragon throwing efforts to topple the Taiwanese government, an American ally in the region, comes with a level of complexity and saber rattling not seen in decades. Under the Biden administration with their weakness on China and their efforts to undermine our US military, we must rely on the technology and our US Navy military leaders to prepare for what must be a soon confrontation between the US and China in the region. China thinks Taiwan is a rogue state and the US respects the sovereignty of Taiwan and will hopefully protect it once China comes a calling. We know they are watching Russia’s poor performance in the Ukraine and may be waiting to see how an invasion like that which has cost Russia so dearly both in troops and military equipment may give China second thoughts with respect to Taiwan.
Now that Japan has been building aircraft carriers and weaponizing their armed forces at a pace not seen since the conclusion of World War 2, might we see a stronger ally in Japan to assist the US Navy with its goals in the region? Presently Guam sits there with its role, Pearl Harbor as well and Atsugi, Yokosuka, Japan as well with its large concentration of US Navy warship stationed there.
With the turbulence of the South China sea and the island creating habits of the Chinese Communist leadership, their buildup of carriers and amphibious ships, development of ports outside of China to include Indonesia one can come to expect that a confrontation with China may very well be just over the horizon. We shall see.
Until the final players in the chess game over politics, land and sea rights and ultimately control of millions of miles of sea lanes is determined we will continue to see countries unite in solidarity while others pick their partners and prepare for the game of the century. Until the game sets sail we hope the United States will continue to maintain its level of technology, send new ships to sea, and train harder than before whilst we prepare for future action. The United States Navy, the sea is ours.
