We have all been watching the ABC, NBC, CNN and Fox News Networks who are clamoring to get our attention with their new cycles aimed at the Ukraine Russian War. This is the first war fought in Europe since the end of the Second World War. Russia has gone from a Cold War enemy to a peaceful once and now goes hot. The Cold War Combatant challenge coins produced by Navy Crow demonstrate how the weapons of the past were developed and were used as prototypes of the machines of war Russia uses while invading Ukraine.
For reasons many of us will never get the whole truth about, Russia invaded the sovereign country of Ukraine on February 24th, 2022. President Vladimir Putin has stated he will reconstitute the Russian Empire because now is for the time that empires will be built yet again. Political hyperbole or truth one may find out shortly about.
Remember Russia’s Invasion of Afghanistan?
Russia has been here before and if you are old enough to remember Russian tanks rolling into Afghanistan then you might remember when they rolled out.
Horseback RPG carrying Afghanis halted Russian tank columns and shot down Russian aircraft with USA made stingers. We may be seeing this again in the Ukraine once the population picks up the rifle and begins their counterattacks. Things may seem like Russia has overrun the Ukraine but Russia may lose this one in the 4th quarter as they did before in Afghanistan.
Sanctions
At the early onset the cutting of oil pipelines, economic sanctions from America and Europe are the early responses to a serious inhumanity with this invasion but in all likelihood the cyber-attacks that Russia has threatened in response to these sanctions is quite likely considering Russia doesn’t appear to be bluffing in most cases. The war rattling seems to be ramping up. We shall see what the future holds.
With all the rhetoric, political lying and jockeying for whatever prize is out there and untold to most of us Americans one thing is for sure: the landscape of the world is about to change and possibly never to recover again. What does that mean? Covid-19 was a virus that affected tens if not hundreds of millions of souls for several years but the Russian invasion of Ukraine may see deepening issues that will last decades.
The US military is on high alert of course and with Russia now doing intercontinental ballistic missile drills likely to tell the world that they don’t want anyone to meddle in their affairs that means the US navy in the Baltic region and elsewhere is going to go on high alert and step up.
